First, before I get the passive-aggressive “in accordance with our policies that you agreed to on signing up, you should have searched for this” - I did, and what I found is why I’m posting.
I’ve often wondered why Wazers’ icons on the live map don’t show anything for me except that they’re there, and what particular “mood” they’re in. I don’t see a purpose for them when their names don’t show up.
Turns out, when I searched the forum and wiki for this topic (even going so far as to search the entire Waze.com domain using Google), I found indications that the names are supposed to show up if you hover your mouse over the Wazer in question.
That doesn’t happen for me. I get the pointer changing from an arrow to a hand (not the usual hyperlink hand). And that’s it. No pop-up indicating their name, nothing except the pointer changing. Clicking, either left or right, does nothing either.
I have tried this on Windows XP and Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, with the latest version of Chrome, and with IE 11. I don’t have the ability (permissions) or inclination to install Firefox. The latest Java, etc., is installed.
Was this feature removed, or am I doing something wrong? If it was removed, why bother keeping the Wazer icons at all? I’m aware that Wazers’ locations are delayed “for security” and programmatical/logistical reasons. But if you’re going to show me that a Wazer is present somewhere, why is that the only info I can have?
