Voice input to report to Waze

I have Google assistant. I press the speak button on the Waze screen to ask Google to report an iissue on the road to Waze. It does not .How to I report to Waze with my voice?

Hi Wazingdriver,
Firstly, are you sure the Waze app has permission to use you microphone? Does the app reply to you or nothing happens?
If not, you will have to go into the “app settings & allow access to microphone”

Secondly after confirming the first step, there are specific commands that Waze will respond to.

“Show turn by turn directions”
“Recenter the map”

Routing actions:

“What’s my ETA?”

Let us know if these help so we can fix it for you.

It does not work. IN waze settings in google assistance section it is even written an example - what is my ETA? When I press the mic button and I ask what is my ETA, it gives me oxford dictionary meaning of ETA. When I say “report traffic”, it says that it is am moderate traffic somewhere in amazon or something.
Pixel 8 Pro.

The same with me, been trying everything, but when the app is open and I give a voice command, it will go to google search.
I say “Report Traffic”, and the assistant opens and tells me how much traffic there is in my location.

SIRI commands are not working :frowning:

I can confirm the voice command is completely broken but I doubt Google is going to do anything about it because knowing Google they won’t fix it until one of their engineer encounters this issue personally.

What if it’s more about the challenge of interrupting CarPlay and Siri’s hold on things? I’m willing to bet this is more of an issue with Apple trying to keep everything internal to Apple rather than being able to easily pass the data from Siri to Waze.

I have the same issues guy’s IOS 17.6,
but what i have worked out…is if you press the microphone icon on the screen, then go back out to maps, then press microphone icon again, it will then work, or that’s how it’s been working for me at least

How is “report police in the other side” command?

I know this is an old thread, but mine is not working, if I say Okay Google, and the report hazard or whatever it responds with I reported a hazard. And then when I check in the apps history, only the stuff that I reported using the report button is displayed.

I was also looking for any information online on this topic and wanted to add my +1 and confirm that this issue is definitely still ongoing and not working. Which is quite annoying and strange that Google doesn’t seem to either care or even be aware that it’s still not working, after such a long time.
What I would want and expect from this feature is that it would work when I use Waze via Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and even when Waze is launched directly from the Android Automotive, which is running as the primary car entertainment system. It’s been a long time since newer cars have had decent integration of phones into their systems, and from my perspective, using the phone as a standalone device, attached to the phone holder, is way too old and so ‘last decade’.
Nowadays, all features must work properly from the car’s integrated screen.
