My query is:
- Why is Waze showing a closed road when it’s one way?
- And why is it routing down a road when it’s shown as closed?
Waze directed me down this road marked closed. That puzzled me. But in any event, the road is one-way towards the round-about, so even though there are long-terms road works here, it’s still in use.
There are extensive roadworks here and have been for about 2years. I don’t know what the allowed traffic directions will be when the work is complete but this road used to be bi-directional. Certainly now, it’s one-way towards the round-about.
The road is only closed west-east, although on the app it will look like the whole road is closed.
As this is a non-permanent change to one-way marking it as closed is sometimes preferable to making a permanent change to the map.
Did Waze route down this road off the roundabout or in the permitted one-way direction?
Thanks for those details. That’s what I was hoping.
I was routed correctly: East>west (towards the roundabout).
I rely on Waze in that area because I need to know the combination of traffic conditions and road access. It caught me out in that I could see the “road closed” indication, yet it was routing via the (apparently) closed road. Thankfully I know the area and knew it was open-one-way.
Thanks for the quick reply.
