Waze thinks I can access my house from the back yard

My address is 3256 Timberwood Parkway, Charlottesville, VA 22911. Proffitt Rd. Runs behind my property, but there is no access to my property from Proffitt. Waze consistently sends me to Proffitt Rd. when I am driving home. In fact, even when I am driving down Timberwood, less then a quarter mile from home, Waze will continue to try to get me to turn around and leave the neighborhood to go back to Proffitt.

When I look at the map, it looks correct. It shows access to my driveway from Timberwood. I don’t know what is wrong or how to fix it, but it has been an issue for years. It can cause confusion for anyone coming to the house.

Please help!

Hi, thanks for your report. The problem appears to be that Waze had your address linked to “Hollymead, VA” (your community according to the Census Bureau) rather than “Charlottesville, VA” (your address according to the Postal Service). I’ve corrected that; it may take 24 hours (sometimes longer) for the update to make it to the app.

Once it is updated, you’ll need to remove any instance of this destination from your history and/or Saved Places (i.e., Home) by tapping the ‘…’ next to the destination and then ‘Remove’. Then search for your address in the Waze app. If you don’t use the Waze search bar, you may receive incorrect coordinates from a third-party source. If you don’t remove the old results from your navigation and Saved Places, you will continue to be routed to the old coordinates stored in your phone’s memory.
