Wrong direction : exit then go back to the same road

Hi everybody,

Sometimes while driving, Waze is giving you a weird direction. It tells to leave your current street, take a parallel one, and then 100m after to go back to your initial street.

Yet, when you check the roads, nothings looks wrongly set.

Does anybody has any idea about this recurrent problem ?

I’m not a local so it’s just my opinion, but i think Waze said to take the parallel road of the Primary Street to escape trafic for 200m and gain 2mn for the ETA.

Am i right?

Actually not really. It happened to me andthere was no traffic jam reported on the application. Maybe it is only because of the average speed on the main street lower than the service road ?

I think if the speeds will be entered, that can solve the problem but i’m not sure.
I think waze route on this alt street to win 200m when there is a lot of trafic

I agree with this Waze use parallel road to escape traffic. Looking at the area it is a heavy traffic roads and based on the GPS trace. Therefore, Waze will seek the best way neither by speed or ETA.

My suggestion is to convert these problematic parallel road to PLR (not for all only the problematic ones) so, Waze will not use it as an alternative route and closed it in much higher Level say 4 so we would know by heart it was studied carefully.
