Hi there,
We’ve received a map update request to Waze support and we’re posting here on the user’s behalf. The link to this post will be forwarded for the user to follow up.
This is the user’s request:
STATE: Southampton
CITY: North Baddesley
PERMALINK: https://www.waze.com/en/live-map/directions/gb/england/north-baddesley/the-ox-bar?dir_first=poi&place=ChIJt61hBuZ0dEgRDltjdwvjqeA
REQUEST TYPE: Wrong Direction / routes
The user’s request content:
Waze insists on routing North on Nutburn Road (So52 9xx) in all route planning, even if the route is plainly faster going South.
See route plan from a short way down Nutburn road to the South end (Ox Bar) routed North and then back on itself.
Starting from SO52 9BG and routing to SO52 9EE (0.3mi) results in a route of 3.6 mikes taking 7-10 minutes.
This routing is recurring such that Waze routes North along Nutburn Road even if South would be faster irrespective of the destination.
Routing this on Google maps directions walking picks the right route, but driving does not.
To be clear - I’m using the Ox as an example as it is just a few yards down the road, but Waze routes north on Nutburn no matter what the destination.
There are other routes suggested which take longer but still route North on Nutburn.
The routes are shown on the screen shot I sent.
The fastest most direct route is never selected (south) this is also true on my partners Waze app.
Thanks,
The Waze Support team
