I’ve recently updated my phone following which my Waze account has gone back to zero points and all favourites and contacts were wiped.
My account still shows me as having joined 2 years ago but everything else was wiped. I contacted waze help a number of weeks ago and had a reply that the scorecard problems were resolved but no progress on my own account.
Do I just have to start afresh or is there another solution anyone is aware of. I know it’s a free app and I am grateful for it, just wondered if anyone could possibly help retrieve my progress to date with it?

I suspect that the reason you’ve not had any suggestions is that nobody is really sure of a solution to this problem. If you are absolutely sure that you logged in with the same username and password (remember, both are case sensitive) then your points would certainly have been updated. Your user profile is certainly confirming the zero points score.
All I can suggest is that you have a look through the Waze app forum and see if anybody else has reported a similar problem. This is a forum which I do not check regularly due to lack of time, and I suspect most senior UK editors have the same problem - too many tasks to be done on top of maintaining our own editing areas.

Ive resigned myself to starting from scratch again woodvale, no joy from the waze support gang and ive only ever had one account so only able to log in on one account. It would not appear to be an isolated incident but as Im gettng no joy from the support team Im just going to have to suck it up. It is a free app after all!
I think read something on this when I changed my phone a few years ago. For a month I have a New Waze user symbol with the dummy but it has a Crown. This lasts about a month and then all points etc come back. Also it wont let you change you Waze Road Icon from the new user icon for a month. I think my points and everything did come back to my account after a month.
This has happened to me also 
in app says 204,215 but zero in Waze editor and on my profile page. Hope they reappear!
My points are now showing so maybe its down to a slow refresh.
