Hi,
Before the last update when the sound is muted I still get warnings and alerts. But now I don’t. Is there a setting for this?

Users complained for a long time that mute did not mute everything. That bug has now been fixed.
To only get alerts, Menu > Settings > Sound > Navigation Guidance > No Guidance.
We have already asked Waze to see if we could get a multi-state mute button so people can have the best of both worlds – Mute all or just Mute Navigation. No word on if or when that feature would be available.
Plus one to this request.
I’d love a choice in the sound settings menu to decide whether to include alerts in the mute button. The truth is we mostly drive the same routes 90% of the time and we don’t need turn by turn but do need to hear about police traps and other hazards.
As a new user, I am frustrated by the alert sounds. Waze makes various noises while I’m driving, but I can’t be looking at the tiny icons on screen or read the messages while driving. Is there somewhere to learn what the different noises are and/or change them from sound to a spoken warning instead? A guide or key to the various icons on screen?
And please don’t flame me for not searching the forum for the answer. I did my best and couldn’t find the answer.
I agree with the others I actually preferred the old behavior. A multi state mute button would be fantastic
Thank you that worked. I just have to remember tho switch it back when actually navigating. ![]()
