I get get audible alert noises when my directions change and a beep noise when I’m clicking on menu items. Is there anyway to change that or turn the noises off? I’m using a G1.
Currently there’s no way to edit these sounds specifically. You can disable ALL sounds by going to settings >> general >> Volume control >> set to silent.
Dror
Thanks. I’ve switched rom builds a couple of times and forgot to turn it off, but I did notice that the silence feature isn’t saved until you exit the settings panel all together, so that was throwing me off as well.
Thanks for the tip
Also, the next version saves the features and options to your liking. So thats fixed in next update ![]()
This is probably my biggest annoyance with the app right now. On android, the only sound option is to affect how the media volume is set. I usually listen to music or something else through my phone while I am driving and using waze. Often, I don’t want to hear the sound effects or voice prompts from waze, but I want to hear my music. I’d love an option to disable waze’s sounds without affecting the media volume.

Open waze, go to the settings, and set ‘Navigation Guidance’ to off.
This should affect only the vocal instructions from waze, and not the music playing in the background. If you’re using an older version, you might not have this feature. Drop us a line at alpha@waze.com and we can send you the latest beta version.
Thanks
@krankyd, of course I overlook the very first setting. Does this affect all of the sound effects, like the recalculating route one? I get that a lot in areas with poor routing data.
yes, this should disable all sounds that are related to navigation.
