Thank you for submitting this bug report and for helping with additional testing. I have filed an internal issue for this misbehavior; the team will investigate it.
This is just a quick update to let you know that the “has comments” balloon has been reinstated. Therefore, we’ll be marking this issue as fixed.
This issue is back again today. I believe there are more than one team doing development, and each have their own versions. Can you pass the message for everyone to sync up their test version to the latest prod version before making any changes so that old bugs like these do not resurface randomly? It’s been happening for other issues as well, such as the usernames appearing as numbers without a link to click. Thanks!
Thanks for the report. The comments are visible for me now—could you please confirm if you see them also? Regardless, I’m checking with the team to understand the root cause of this behavior, even if it was only a transient issue.
I’ve checked with the team and understood that I initially misinterpreted the flow.
I thought the new comment wasn’t visible when opening a page that already had one; however, I see now that the comment bubble doesn’t appear immediately after adding a new comment. This is actually the expected behavior at the moment.
This happens because the pin state does not render without a manual map refresh, similar to the existing flow for closures.
As @ojlaw mentioned, it was once fixed when it was a known issue with one of the prod releases. Hence in my post I mention that it is back again. But to answer you, there are no issues with the comments, it’s the issue with the UR balloon indicator not immediately showing that it is being commented on.
