Brisbane. Update turns

Hello again,

Whilst looking around the same area as my last post I found the intersection of Rose and Dawson Streets have turn restrictions but there should not be any. I am unable to change them I assume because I am level 1?

https://www.waze.com/editor/?lon=153.04712&lat=-27.41446&zoom=8&layers=TBFTTFTTTTTTTFTTTTTTTTTTTT&env=row&segments=102076592

Can someone select all four points of the intersection and remove any turn restrictions?

Thanks.

P.S. Another quick question. Could someone confirm that ll dead end streets (cul-de-sac) should have a u-turn allowed? I am finding some that do not and the there is a purple circle with question mark there as well?

are you 100% sure?

for what ever reason I can’t use street view to check

I got street view to work and I can see no reason why all turns can’t be enabled

can somebody confirm?

All I can add is I have driven around there and I also checked Street View and I think there are no restrictions.

changed

When the u-turns were introduced a few months ago, they were all set as a soft not allowed automatically by the system. The soft turn restriction is the question mark you see, this means that if a few people do a u-turn in the cul-de-sac then the Waze system will change the turn to allowed. Hard turns (no question mark) will not be changed automatically by the Waze system.

You are welcome to set the cul-de-sac’s to u-turn allowed if you wish to take the time to do so, for normal routing however, this is unlikely to be of any huge benefit. Routes started in the cul-de-sac will simply lead out of the street and routes to the cul-de-sac will end in the street. Enabling the u-turns will only assist with users who have missed a turn and need to turn around somewhere (though most will do a u-turn before the Waze suggested u-turn allowed junction in suburban streets).

Regards,
Andrew.

I missed that one, good thing I’ve not worried about setting the u-turns.

Thanks for this

I have advised editors in NZ not to use “U” turns until instructed to do so from the wiki

It will come but when?

…when the routing system improves its penalty calculation system… frustrates the heck of me sometimes when it routes incorrectly…
who knows

Hi Guys,

Could you just confirm then if I see some that have the green U-turn symbol should I toggle them to red?

Cheers!

For cul-de-sacs and dead end streets, yes, for the moment.
