(Edit: I thought I posted this in the WME forum, not the AU unlock forum, which might contextualise some of the wording)
I’m having a weird problem. I’m trying to connect some roads up to an existing highway that is locked at my editing level (level 3) and inside my editing area.
I’ve discovered:
- I can edit existing segments on the highway. For example, I changed the elevation on a segment of B84 - Golden Highway, Denman, Australia from 1 to Ground
- I can’t make changes that alter the number of segments. For example, I can’t delete the now-unnecessary nodes at each end that segment to combine three segments into a single one, and I can’t attach two new parking lot segments to a section of that highway further north.
- The unusual factor that I suspect is significant is that this road is marked as a “Minor Highway”, but there is text underneath the road type saying “This segment will be used as Major Highway for routing purposes” - see screenshot below. (This message is not something I’ve noticed before, but I’ve only recently received Area Manager rights for the more sparsely-populated areas of my state.)
The error message when trying to save the changes is “Saving error: You have no permissions to make some of the changes”.
Any ideas on what to do? I haven’t tried changing the road type to Major Highway temporarily because I don’t want to risk damage routing.
(The standard Waze routing algorithm’s assumptions don’t hold so well in a country about the area of the Lower 48 US states but less population of Texas - there are large chunks of the country nowhere near anything that resembles what Waze would call a Major Highway
