Hello,
New to the forums but been using Waze for a long time. I have noticed that in the area I live there is a road which is missing from Waze. I went into the map editor to add the road and it allowed me to place down roads and name them etc. Upon clicking save, it said “You do not have permission to make some of the changes”
I checked and I am within the editable area so not sure if there is anything else I need to do.
Thanks
I have dozens of errors in my area, including wrong speed limits and missing roads.
You need to have someone unlock the map for you because you haven’t made enough edits to rank up and do it for yourself. I don’t understand the point of giving people the option to edit the map if you need to have someone essentially do it for you.
Seems pointless having the ability to rank up if you can never make an edit and I accept that these errors will never be fixed.
Hi Mr-Wasabi,
Sorry for the late reply, I didn’t see your thread. :?
You can only edit the map within a 1.6km radius of where you have driven using the Waze app. In addition, some roads are locked to a higher level if they are a main road. We are happy to unlock segments so you can edit them however. Here’s a quick video on how you can request an unlock or ask for an edit to be done for you:
