Seems that this U-turn ramp is no longer closed. Can someone re-open it?
According to the map comments added by Waze_roadclosures(staff), which lead me to
https://www.td.gov.hk/en/traffic_notices/index_id_54117.html, the segment is closed 1:00am to 4:30am every morning until 26th January 2019. I believe your YouTube video was taken in day time (first ride of 720X), therefore the ramp is not closed.

When -
(A) putting in access roads closure for Central-Wanchai Bypass when one-tube-two-way is in operation during odd hours for regular maintenance and
(B) “closing” the Bypass route before its official opening on Jan 20,
we opted to use the “Restriction” function for the segments.
However, for this u-turn ramp, the Closure Layer is used.
I opted for the first option mainly because the second option - reserved for “a level 5 editor / waze partner editor” - is out of reach. :mrgreen: :mrgreen: But in effect, any difference between the two options - pros and cons?

Closure are real time. It is applied immediately when you pressed the “save” button. Therefore only senior editors can add them. When you become a senior editor in the future (I’m sure you will), please remember to check carefully before you apply a closure, as it affects Wazers immediately. It is also visually highlighted on mobile apps with red-white strips to tell drivers.

Time-restrictions, on the other hand, needs to wait for the next tiles update before it can be reflected on the mobile app. Also, Wazers cannot tell if there’s a time-restriction on the app.

Once a closure is applied, the segment is locked. Nobody can edit that segment until all closures have expired or removed. Similarly, if you just edited a segment, you cannot apply a closure to it too until the tile has been updated for that segment.

Each closure has to be added one-by-one (although the community wrote a script to do it in batch). For time-restrictions, you can set to repeat with a schedule, say Mon-Fri, every 9am-5pm, from Jan 1 to March 31.

By submitting a Closure event in Event Mode (on top left of WME, you can change from “Default Mode” to “Event Mode”), well before the Closure happening (at least 48 hours), Waze will send notification to mobile apps in advance of the Closure. Incredibly useful for big sport events like Marathon race. Time-restriction will not send notifications to apps.
grub_s, you’re now level 3. Please see if you can add Closures (you need to enable the Closure layer on the top right of WME). If not, let me or Leo know.

grub_s, I saw you created the Event for HK Marathon next Sunday. Please don’t forget to submit the event (in Event Mode) after you finished adding/editing all the closures. I often miss out this one last step and thus the Wazers do not get notified. Only submitted events get notified on the mobile app.
You are right Keith. Also we have to create Event for long term road closure due to roadworks.
