We have remarked a lot of confusion in defining the different levels within the toll feature. Speaking about a toll or a section may mean different things in different situations. Maybe it is a cultural difference.
E.g., for tolls with entry-exit matrices, we define a section by the price to/from entry/exitA to entry/exitB. Hence a toll-section in the toll file is either a toll gate or an intersection with several toll gates in real. A section in real is the relation between the toll-tool-section A and toll-tool-section 2.
In our case this also counts for most section priced tolls. The section in fact is already defined in the “section_local_name” of the tolled intersection/toll gate. When driving from A to B, you will pass toll booth X. We list toll gate X as section-ID in the toll tool. If the stretch would have a toll booth at point A and point B, We list A in the first toll-tool section, and B in the other. The section-location also is the location of the toll gate.

And if you speak about a toll, do you refer to a toll gate, a tolled stretch or section, to the toll-tool file, or to one of the toll-records in a file if it has multiple?
To reduce the confusion, we propose to use Toll-file for the total file that is saved
Toll-record, for a toll with 1 or more toll gates (now called “sections”) within the toll-file.
And the section in the file might become Toll-gate
Would that apply for others as well? Any other suggestions?
