While adding house numbers, Waze gave me an error that said “Number already exists”. The street only has 9 houses, so I know that I didn’t overlook a duplicate. I did a search of the map and found that their is another street in Georgia with the same street name and house number, just in a different city. Can this cause Waze to report it as an error, or is there something else wrong?
I looked through the House Numbers in WME wiki, but didn’t find anything that related to this problem, or that I could fix at my level.
The GPS coordinates for the house: -82.24334 33.49316
Address:
107 Fred Ct.
Grovetown, GA 30813
Its the only on on the street without a house number at the moment.
Noticed that Fred Ct there is not listed as Grovetown, it is “no city”.
If the other one is also “no city”, then it could be the cause of the duplicate.
My understanding is that roads that fall outside the city limits, aren’t supposed to have a city. You are correct, both Fred Courts show no city. Is there a recommended action to fix this?
And this is the exact reason why we need to start using the postal city and not worry about actual city borders. Unless Waze wants to give us postal(zip) codes…
Good solution, I needed to find a way around this myself. However, one suggestion: Instead of using a City name (chance of making a new db entry if it doesn’t match an existing nearby city), just change the road name temporarily and then change that back instead.
