To whom it may concern,
Recently we were discussing the legacy city names prevalent on Cape Cod. These are not currently in line with the Massachusetts City/Town accepted list. The complicating factors of removing these from the map result in an ambiguity of how to handle map improvements in this area.
Currently there are a couple of questions that come to mind when I try to edit in these areas:
-Which city should be utilized for places?
-Should alternative names be used on roads when adding house numbers?
-What is the preferred city used when adding additional roads, parking lot roads, or other segment types?
Guidance would be appreciated to ensure that time is optimally spent.

As mentioned this is a complicated topic, and will likely take time to get fixed or final answer.
In terms of your questions
-Places - use whichever one is listed on the business website. Incorrect city names for places will not impact the city layer or cause a smudge. The address inside of a place other than a residential point place, are not searchable.
-Don’t add alt names yet, till more guidance comes forward, adding house numbers as the roads are already named is perfectly fine, if you have a specific issue touch base with a state manger.
-hopefully there are not many more segments you need to add, however this needs to be reviewed on a case by case basis for the time being by a state manager. Focus on places and house numbers to start. They are valuable contributions.
