Impossible to approve PURs if it has an invalid house number

Hi @MeridianHills,

I appreciate you taking the time to explain it further. However, I cannot see the RPP in question when I follow the link, you would need to copy the permalink to the affected entity (link/chain icon on the right panel).

Best regards,
Olesya

I expected this question to be asked. I realized it too late, and when I went back to get the link to that PUR before you asked, So I guess they were already rejected :joy:. My guess is that the problem was that the road there did not have any city or name. Because as can be seen from the picture, a highway name was selected in the street name section. In highways, the city section is usually left blank. Only the country and street name sections are filled in.

I think they should be tracked as two separate bugs related to RPPs. Yours is about the location of RPPs, mine is about the house address assigned to RPPs.

I’m sorry but it’s not like that. If the house number section had been left blank, the operation would have been successful and this was tried. It was seen that it was indeed successful. Moreover, it is in the same location in the video. The whole problem is caused by the house numbers section.

Now I have two more samples, we just found them. However, even though they are in the city, the problem cannot be solved even by deleting the number written by the user in the house number section. So we still cannot add the place to the map. (Include layers settings :white_check_mark:)

When you try to add them, the errors that appear in the console are almost the same as the previous ones.

I thought it went through but let’s try again here is the latitude - longitude -86.286530084204 39.658028918447 // https://waze.com/en-US/editor?env=usa&lat=39.65801&lon=-86.28595&marker=true&zoomLevel=18&segments=538703163 here is the PL for the PR that 7301 is located on, the trouble RPP, the other RPPs in the area also presented trouble but nothing to the extent that 7301 did.

The house address was incorrect in GIS, we attempted to move the address marker a few hundred feet to the new location on the plot. Even with shifting the house number prior doing RPP work we encountered error messages, necessitating the deletion of the HN and then working the RPP and the archaic work it took to get to where we have it now. I think the issue still flows to the same drain, albeit with different faucets, like I indicated prior. I’m not working against you; we all want a resolution to the sudden onslaught of RPP and HN errors.

Steps to reproduce this issue:
(This is happening in both Beta and Production WME)
Very often we get new PURs where the phone number of the place ends in the HN field or simply the HN entered by the reporter in not valid.

The problem is that even if you correct the HN or leave it blank, the WME does not let you save the site and always gives the error “the highlighted place has an invalid house number”. You can only reject the site or create another one next to it and copy the information but if the original report includes photos these are lost besides it is not fair to the one who reported. The steps are as follows:

  1. Locate a PUR in the map and click on it
  2. You get the box where you select “reject” or “add and edit” and can see the address entered by the reporter with an invalid HN.
  3. Click on the “Add and edit” green button
  4. Click on the Address box (or pencil) to edit the address and fix the invalid HN either by clearing or correcting the HN and click the “Apply” button afterwards
  5. Click the “Save” button in WME
  6. WME (Beta and Prod) responds with the saving error “The highlighted place has an invalid house number” and you can’t do anything else other than reject the PUR or leave it in the map unattended. Also noted today that there are multiple PURs for the same place but with different photos I made a screen recording of the steps but was unable to add it to this report.

Hey @Daria_Staff , Here’s another example for you

I have noticed this as well, thanks for reporting it. Issue created for staff.
Any more examples, please post here in case staff needs a few more.

Found a similar Bug Report for Production:

Yes i noticed this too, before you were able to approve the PUR and fix the address, now even if you approved it and fix the address and try to save it’ll give you an error message that the house number is invalid, even after you changed it.

I had posted this bug report previously.

And this one:

Im also experiencing this issue with any type of PUR, not just RPP, if the PUR has a wrong HN, then even if we accept it and change the address, when you try to save, it will give you an invalid House Number message, and you wont be able to add the PUR.

I am also having this issue with PURs and adding a HN to places (RPP and regular places) - “The highlighted Place has an invalid house number”

PUR Example - Can’t accept this EVCS import even though it’s only 45 meters from the road that shares the name

I added both of these new places with no HN (so I could save them without the error), but am unable to add an HN to them and unable to add an RPP for the address as well (160 Old Post Road, Sharon).

EDIT 11 Mar: Was able to add HNs to the place examples, however, cannot add an RPP for that address.

Hi @Max_Booster,

Can you please check if you can edit and save these PURs?

Thank you,
Olesya

I tested both. The problem is solved now. Thank you :+1::white_check_mark:

@MeridianHills thank you for the PL, I have checked the edit history; indeed, the number of attempts had been extraordinary… If you come across this issue again, I would suggest raising a new bug. Ideally we would need to have a separate thread dedicated to PURs for RPPs with valid house numbers. This will help us to triage these cases more efficiently.

Thank you,
Olesya
