New Editor version 2.261

Hi Everyone

We hope you’re all doing well.

We’ve just released a new version of WME production, v2.261.

EDIT: Reminder: Please make sure you report issues/bugs in the WME Production bugs forum, as announced here. This will ensure we can track, address, and provide updates on individual issues effectively.

Below you can find a summary of the release.

Implemented Community Suggestions:

  • The User Preferences section in UR now includes a control for collapsing and expanding. This makes UR more readable, especially when the reporter has a large number of passes or permits added.

New features/enhancements:

  • Unify Action Areas Update - Smoother Transitions & Improved Menu Navigation.
You can find more details here.
  • We’ve added a background to the Events Sidebar for zoom levels 4–11, clarifying that events cannot be created at these zoom levels.
  • Clustered Map Problems, Update Requests, Place Update Requests, and Map Suggestions now feature new icons to enhance clarity. The quantity of chips in the stack now represents ranges of items within the cluster: 2 chips for clusters with 10-29 markers, 3 chips for clusters with 30-99 markers, 4 chips for clusters with 100+ markers.
  • In response to community feedback, the tooltip for Turns has received minor design updates (it’s now thinner). Additionally, the Instructions, Restrictions, and Turn Closures menu items now displays Add/Edit tooltips when hovered over. And the whole rows are now clickable.
  • Now Content Security Policy (CSP) is required to be enabled in your browser in order to access and use WME. For more details please see this announcement.

Bug Fixes

We released 7 bug fixes:

  1. Shortcuts: JB keyboard shortcut locked to L5+ - fixed.
  2. Save Stack: Save Stack shows all items with capital letters when editing a place - fixed.
  3. Suggest an Edit: Street name updates don’t respect upper / lower case as entered - fixed.
  4. UI: Segments are blinking when loading WME - fixed.
  5. Saved Search for Issue Tracker: With long named saved filters, scrolling down can skip the next in list - fixed.
  6. Venues: Places not always show up on the map - fixed.
  7. Turn Instructions: Signs/Roadshields multiply in Turn Instructions view - fixed.

You can read more here.

Hi Daria, I am a new user and I am not able to save my edits. The roads where I live are completely misplaced and I cannot change anything. People find it really hard to find my building due to these errors. Can you help me with this edit please?

I would recommend you post in the appropriate Waze country sub-forum for a local editor to help you with this request: https://www.waze.com/discuss/c/editors/3983

The WME seems to be gobbling up memory again. I thought this problem was solved, but now it seems to be back. The editor tab uses RAM by the GB after just a couple of edits and starts to lag fiercely. Could this “feature” of the update please be removed?

Is this without Scripts? I have seen reports of slow saves with URO+ running.

Hi DownPeriscope,

Thank you for the report and apologies for the inconvenience.

Can you please submit your report in the WME Prod. bugs forum so we can take a look at it?

This will ensure we have all the necessary details to investigate the issue. You have the option to report performance issues. This change was recently announced here.

Thanks,
Maia

Hello there @Daria_Staff , that’s exactly what I’m doing right now .
(I just saw Maria’s last post. However, I wanted to delete my post here to avoid repeating myself, but there was no such option)

Thanks for the question, @turbomkt. I should’ve thought of that. It wasn’t just the slow saving that got my attention, though. The active WME tab went from a couple of hundred MB of RAM to 1,5 GB within minutes, just by editing and panning the map. But, as you obviously suspected, this problem has been diminished with several scripts receiving updates.

Thanks for pointing that out, @maiapas, but I won’t be doing that. As @turbomkt suggested, it would indeed seem to be script-related. So, I’m sorry to have rung the alarm bell for no good reason.

Glad to hear the updated scripts have helped.

I have found that venues don’t seem to be disappearing like they did previously. However, the venue information is disappearing more frequently than before, sometimes even right after a refresh.

For example, this RPP currently shows “No address:” RPP

I select it, reload with that permalink, and then it shows “7248 Village Creek Trce, Sandy Springs, Georgia” for the address. After refreshing, sometimes the venues display address info for 10-20 minutes, other times the address info disappears after less than a minute. I’m trying to recreate it, but can’t force it to duplicate.

Question, is there no where for us to check the history of who created a RTC for user-generated RTCs? I am able to see who created the RTC when it is still active, but I will not be able to see who created it after the RTC has ended. The only thing I see in the Edit History would be when I delete the RTC before it ends. This is causing some issues for me in identifying a user that has been spamming illegitimate RTCs for a road in front of their house claiming that they “don’t want drivers to use that road because it is noisy”. As a result, I only have limited evidence when I log on and see the RTC being active and I manage to delete it.

Separate but issue of similar nature, I have noticed that any edits made via the Waze app such as place name, category, will not show up in the Edit History but will show in the “Last updated by ”. Just wondering why this is not included in the logs.

Are there any plans to include this in the Edit History, or is there some place else that I should be looking for?

Some of the information is available. URO+ pop ups will show it.
