Hey everyone! ![]()
We hope you’re all doing well.
The new version of WME v2.326 has just been released ![]()
Check out what’s changed below:
New features and improvements:
1. WME Update: Draggable cards for a more flexible layout
We are rolling out the first phase of a major interface change aimed at increasing flexibility in the Waze Map Editor. This change is the first step toward a more customizable and powerful WME experience.
What’s new:
- You can now click and drag cards anywhere on the screen. This includes the Turn Menu and Issue Tracker cards (URs, PURs, Map Problems, etc.).
- Cards have received minor visual updates to support this new repositioning.
Details on key interactions:
- How to move: select the menu header to drag the card anywhere on the screen.
- Visual confirmation: hovering over the header will change the cursor to the drag icon, indicating the card is ready to be moved.
- Protection: cards are intelligently restricted to the visible area of your screen, preventing you from losing content out of sight.
- Smooth transition: when opening or closing the menu, there is a slight delay that allows for easy and seamless transitions between cards.
It’s worth noting that this improvement also fixes some long-standing issues reported by the Community:
- The Turn Menu was covering the Turn Instructions panel;
- The turn pop-up was covering junction box routes when switching between routes;
- The turn pop-up appeared cut off when opened in Street View.
We encourage you to share suggestions about other areas, panels, and windows where you would like to see this drag functionality, as well as any other related features you find useful.
2. Map Suggestions/Performance: we’ve added a fix to prevent map lag caused by extensive suggestion preview calculations happening too early. This calculation is now delayed until you hover over the suggestion card.
3. External Providers: previously, the change log displayed External Providers with unintelligible strings (UUIDs). Now, the save list will display readable names.
4. Edit Suggestion Email Templates: the template layout has been updated for all response types in edit suggestions.
Note: the new templates should be available later today.
5. SDK Improvements: see the change log for additions to the SDK.
Bug fixes:
We’ve released 5 bug fixes:
1. Turns: three bugs related to turns were resolved thanks to the implementation of Draggable Cards.
2. Events: fixed the error message for cases where the translated event name is missing.
3. PURs: fixed an issue where accepting a PUR for a flagged place resulted in the place being deleted.
Known bugs:
- Draggable Cards: the turn menu window closes automatically when switching between routes.
We look forward to hearing your feedback! ![]()
