I’m new to Waze, how do I turn up the volume for the alert when I go over the speed limit?
I have a Samsung S21 FE and if there is an alert when the speed goes red, I can’t hear it over the noise of my engine but I can hear the voice giving directions.
My phone is located a little out of view so I would like a voice to tell me ‘over the limit’ or a better and louder notification tone like Microsoft Maps had. There was no mistaking when I went over the limit.
In Waze settings, navigate to Sound. You’ll find a slider for Prompts volume. This adjusts the volume for all Waze alerts, including speeding. Slide it all the way up to see if that helps.
Im totally agree with OP, the volume of my phone is perfect with all but speed notification alert is so so low, i cant understand how google dont allow to can customice sound for example, i would like use a siren or a loud sound, the default sound is so useless.
To adjust the volume for speed limit alerts in Waze on your Samsung S21 FE, follow these steps:
Check the Volume Settings:
Open Waze and go to Settings (tap the gear icon in the top-left corner).
Navigate to Voice & Sound.
Ensure the Alerts Volume slider is set to maximum.
Enable Speed Limit Alerts:
In ‘Settings’, go to ‘Speedometer’
Turn on Alert when speeding* and set the threshold for the alert (e.g., “At speed limit” or “+5 mph”).
Choose a Clearer Voice Prompt:
In Voice & Sound, select a voice that includes alerts or notifications. Some voices may not announce “Over the Limit” but others might.
Increase Phone Media Volume:
Use the phone’s volume buttons to raise the Media volume while the Waze app is running.
Additional Tips:
Ensure your phone’s audio is routed to a loudspeaker or connected to your car’s audio system via Bluetooth or AUX.
If the sound is still not loud enough, consider using an external phone holder that amplifies the sound.
Unfortunately, Waze does not currently allow custom alert tones, but these settings should make the alerts more noticeable! also check this page lebensblick
Audio speed limit alarms are the only reason I decided to switch from Google Maps to Waze. And now I feel it is too quiet and see no way to raise the volume…
