Hi all
I sent an email message to all the major gas companies in NZ recently asking if their Marketing people knew about Waze and the new Gas Partners scheme. I sent them a link to the web site and made it clear that I’m not affiliated with Waze except as a user keen to see them on the map!
So far I’ve had a positive reply from Gull with a comment that it looks like a great idea and they will discuss at the next marketing meeting.
I’ll keep you posted on any news I get from them and others.

Not surprised to hear Gull are pleased - there aren’t any near me, but during a recent weekend away I was reporting as many petrol stations as I could and I hadn’t realised how much cheaper they were!

I used the gas prices for the first time to my benefit over the weekend - drove to Turangi and after Te Kuiti did a search for Gas Stations - it calculated how far away each was, and the distance off our planned route and showed the best option was to drive another 65km to the next Gull where we got petrol 6c cheaper than anywhere else!
Its a great feature and hopefully the Gas Stations will actually see the benefits too!

If they’re not happy they can get involved and use it to their advantage.

I contacted a company call cardlink who monitor gas station pricing via purchases their members do at each station (I guess it’s a fuel card of some sort). I was trying to talk up the benefits that Waze could have to their members if they shared their pricing data with us. I haven’t heard back.
Good work on the contact with Gull. I was thinking about doing something similar, but haven’t gotten around to it yet. It would be good to get someone like Z on board as they have stations all over the place whereas Gull stations are fairly limited.
Yes, the more we can get on board the better. What surprised me is that Gull was the only company to reply at all. I didn’t even get as much as an automated response from the others where as Gull sent a personal email showing that a real person has read my message and given it some thought.
That and their prices is why I filled up at Gull in Atiamuri heading south over the weekend! Doing a search for Gas just after Cambridge it was the best option for price and within range before we ran out 
Its actually really surprising how much the gas prices change around the city. I’m now searching the prices within a 3km radius of where I am as a habit before buying petrol. Yesterday the Caltex on Mt Wellington Hwy with my AA cards 6c discount along with a fabulous price on 91 made me feel like a very savvy shopper lol.
