Yes/Maybe.

Yes, mark it in the app. You can then go to the editor yourself and approve it. However, if a higher-ranking editor approves it, it will be “harder” to remove by tapping “Not there” in the app when prompted.

Check with user “spil” on this, but I’m pretty sure that part of NY isn’t covered by the laws that allow the cameras…

I also find it interesting that all these laws have a REPEAL DATE of 12/01/2014, so if everyone keeps their mouth shut for the next two years, no more red light cameras in NYS…

SHOOT. Either I read that wrong, or google gave me bad results (Plainville, NY) when I searched for the town… Well, at least I did good research into the law…

The camera location doesn’t appear on the list/map from Newsdayhttp://www.newsday.com/long-island/transportation/red-light-cameras-on-long-island-1.2224592.

The Newsday page doesn’t have a date listed on it (unless I’m just blind!), so it might be outdated. Since the OP said that it’s a “new camera”, I went ahead and Approved the west-facing camera that was still unapproved (mdqueenz approved the other three already).

After I found that I went digging to see if there was an official listing on a government website & couldn’t find any… Still doesn’t help that I found the wrong town in the first place… facepalm

Thanks. Yes, all 4 cameras are a month or so old. I pass through that intersection probably 20 times a week. This is not good!

They will be live in the app likely on Thursday as we’re past the typical cutoff time for tomorrow. Still a million times faster than other GPS nav maps!
