Hi Wazers,
Waze crisis notifications are designed to provide quick and timely updates to users who may be affected by an emergency in their region. This project focused on updating the messaging and design to make them clearer and more engaging for users. The new notifications are now LIVE!
Alerts for evacuation areas, fires, storms, and other warnings are determined by a polygon-shaped area.
The Waze team uploads a KML file, received from the community or authorities, which delimits the specific area.
This action then triggers an alert for any user whose route or location is within that designated area.
