Hello, Windermere Pointe in Winter Garden is a community with two access gates, however, only the main gate off of Winter Garden Vineland (HWY 535) has a call box. However, when routing to an address within the community, most of the time, it will route to the ancillary gate off of Tilden, which doesn’t have a call box and is very narrow. This forces a backup of cars onto the street while people are attempting u-turns, etc. What’s strange is that most of the map systems (Apple, Google) will route to the Tilden gate even though the person is passing right by the primary one on Winter Garden Vineland. I would really appreciate your help in updating the routing logic to reflect this. Thank you!
My apologies for the delayed response. I have created a place called Wintermere Pointe Main Gate. Visitors can be routed to this either as an added stop along their route, or choose to route there first, then to the destination address.
Unfortunately, Waze cannot differentiate between resident and guest gates at this time. Hopefully, in the future, this will be a possibility.

Please help us with Uber and visitors to our community. We continually edit Waze to exclude our private gate only for it to open up again the next day. The drivers being forced there continually break our gates as they tailgate residents into the development.

If Waze can’t seem to close a private entrance, can’t you permanently close both in and out roads for 30ft on either side of the entrance?!?!
Will resident driver’s driving thru the closed road force the route to reopen even if you permanently close them?

We cannot permanently close the gate or or the roadways. However, we have created a “fix” which I mentioned previously. The residents need to instruct visitors, Uber, etc… to either route to Wintermere Pointe Main Gate first or add it as a waypoint in their route. You can also check with your local government about posting warning signs near the resident only gate with instructions.
Uber uses another routing engine as their primary guidance. You will have to reach out to Uber directly about that.
