Hello we have a resident only gate located on hypoluxo Rd and Winston Trails Blvd… this access point is an unmanned gate that only provides access to residents with resident barcodes affixed to their cars… with this being said Waze sends everyone to this gate which causes traffic issues as they end up getting stuck… this gate will allow anyone to exit but again entrance to the immunity from this gate is for residents only!
Unfortunately, waze has no way to determine which wazers are residents and which are visitors. In these situations we provide correct routing to those who use the gates most often – the residents. In general, we are assuming that a visitor will have communicated with a resident before attempting to enter and then know which gates are available to them.

Hello. There is a continued issue with guests going to the resident-only gate and causing back ups/delays. I read the previous reply on 3/20/20 and my thoughts are that residents will know which gate to use. They won’t need the map anymore once they are in the vicinity of the neighborhood. Guests are those which need appropriate door to door directions.

As a solution to the main gate vs resident-only gate issue, I have added a place point location at the main gate and designate it as Winston Trails - Main Gate with an alternate of Winston Trails - Visitor Gate.
This way someone can direct a guest/visitor to that location which will bring them to the proper gate that they have access to, they can then navigate to their final destination.
I have also added a place point location at the resident-only gate as Winston Trails - Hypoluxo Rd.
Unfortunately that is the only solution available to us, hopefully in the future we will have more options as editors for special cases like this.
