I’ll be away for a bit so I can’t do much with these UR’s, but I’d be interested to know how you think they should be tackled.
I’ve found routing across this junction confusing myself. Essentially, a dual-carriageway (A339) has a half-a-roundabout-like loop, with lanes and road markings similar to a roundabout. Because it’s only half a roundabout though, and therefore not mapped as one, directions are counter-intuitive when approaching from the east (i.e. turn left, when wanting to turn right onto the main road).
It actually looks pretty well mapped. Apart from the chevron signs on the inside of the loop, there’s nothing to suggest it’s really a roundabout and none of the signage suggests that.
What I would suggest is that the angles at the end of these two segments should be adjusted. They will both give “turn left” (one of those is the one you mentioned above). But since the relevant junctions are traffic-light controlled and do not require “turning onto another road”, the angles could be made very shallow so as to not give turn instructions.
Yes, quite confusing. Road mark says turn right but Waze instruction says turn left.
That’s may reduce the confusion. I’m thinking to use a short segment of ramp with description to force waze to say ‘turn right onto…’ It’s middle of the night. My brain is not really working. Maybe think more a bit deeper when I wake up
