Steps to reproduce this issue:
Email alert for a comment has an incorrect Status indicator.
A user report [https://www.waze.com/en-GB/editor?zoom=5&lat=51.710178&lon=-4.729311&mapUpdateRequest=24831901] was closed on 5th September
On 8th September, a comment was added, and the email message says:
From: Waze noreply@waze.com
Sent: 08 September 2025 10:31
Subject: New comment on a map issue
A volunteer Waze Map Editor, reporter, looked at the map issue you’re following.
Date reported: September 5
Location: A478, Wooden
Status: Open
Of note, the Status says Open when the status of the report is closed:
Closed on: 05 September, 2025

It also says “A volunteer Waze Map Editor, reporter”, the reporter is the end user reporting a problem, so referring them as a volunteer Waze Map Editor, reporter seems to not be quite correct.
