Sydney CBD Closures

Due to the Hostage situation in Sydney CBD a large number of roads are closed.
I have submitted a Major Event form for this.
Does anyone know how to get this implemented fast?

The major event won’t be processed in time. Best option is to ask the CM team to add a road closure from the editor, or hope that other wazers mark the closures as they encounter them.

This form is to be used by all editors who do NOT have direct access to the Waze Road Closure system. Waze Champs, Country Managers, and State Managers will review requests entered and then submit them to Waze if approved. Not all countries have a separate Road Closure Form.

The Transport Management Centre has said roads are now closed between George Street and Macquarie Street from Park Street to Circular Quay.

He said Macquarie Street had been closed and several other road closures were in place.

All city-bound traffic travelling over the Sydney Harbour Bridge is being diverted via the Western Distributor and there is no southbound access to the Cahill Expressway, York Street or Harbour Street.

Mr Wright said there was no northbound access to the Cahill Expressway and all traffic is being diverted into the Sydney Harbour Tunnel.

Northbound traffic on the Western Distributor cannot use the King Street exits and motorists are being diverted over Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The Transport Management Centre said buses entering and exiting the city were also being diverted and schedules and routes may change at short notice.

Buses on Elizabeth Street that normally run to Circular Quay are being terminated at Hyde Park, with services leaving the city starting from St James Station.

Buses travelling in and out of the city from a southerly direction are terminating at Central Station.

First of all, I hope this situation will be resolved soon.

Ahh ok - I assumed all Level 5+ editors had access from @Caradellino’s post in this thread. I hope waze releases this more widely to more editors, as it is much better than setting time-based restrictions, reporting a major event, contacting waze, etc. for fast changing closures like we saw today.

An update on the closures - Police have now relaxed some of the closures from earlier. I have attached a map showing the latest road closures from NSW Live Traffic website.

It would probably be a good idea to update this in waze before the morning traffic.
