Trying to make some small edits to roads around this area - road selected in permalink is one example - which give a “You have no permissions to make some of the changes” message when I attempt to save the edits. The roads are L1, so not above my level, and they’re within my driving area - so why can’t I save edits on them?
Edit: OK, I guess there’s something about editing permissions which I don’t quite understand! What I’m trying to do is add the City name to the address data for a bunch of roads (a bunch of them in the village of Penyffordd are currently showing ‘no city’). I was able to do this on various streets very close by earlier on, but some of the roads (all at L1) won’t allow me to do it. But just as an experiment, I tried another change (speed limit changed and then restored) on one of the roads which won’t let me edit the city name, and it allowed the edit to save without any problems. Can someone explain to me what’s going on here, please?!
Strange… I tried again tonight to make the necessary edits, and I’m able to save all the updated information with no problems. Anyone able to enlighten me as to why I was having issues last night?
Just to resurrect this one… it’s something I’m still experiencing quite a lot. I’ll be making a series of edits to places or segments in a particular area, and it’ll be going fine - until, for no apparent reason, I’ll start getting a “You have no permissions to make some of the changes” error if I try changing the Street or City name of a segment, and be unable to save the edit. Once WME gets into this ‘groove’, I have to leave it a day or so, and then come back to doing what I was doing - at which point it generally lets me edit the same segments and save again with no problems.
The odd thing is that, even when WME is having one of these strops at me and not allowing edits on segments to save, I can still edit and save places, or create new roads - just not edit existing ones.
I’ve tried to see some sort of pattern to it - certain times of day, trying to carry out a certain combination/type of edit, etc. - but it doesn’t seem to be triggered by one particular thing. I’m using Chrome on MacOS, but I’ve tried Firefox and Safari as well and experienced the same thing.
Hi Gareth, I still can’t think what this might be and so have referred it to the UK Champ team. Hopefully one of them will have some ideas and let you know.
I have had exactly the same problem my side. I did put it down to a possibility of mass editing and restricting what we can do daily. Like Gareth i can still edit places and add roads as well. Also tried various browsers.
I was happily saving edits recently up until about 1650, another time it was 1710 so it may be a server thing, maybe it is uploading or as suggested above, capping the amount of editing allowed at low level.
Hi Les, 2 things to be aware of. There does appear to be limit on how may edits a new editor can do in a day, no idea what it is, but you are almost certainly hitting it from time to time.
Second, Waze has a throttling system built in. If you try and do and save too many edits too quickly, you will get throttled. This will still allow you to edit, but you will not be credited with the work. It is useful to keep an eye on your edit total and if it stops increasing, you have been throttled. This turns back off after a while. The length of time you are throttled being related to how fast you were editing and saving.
Hello, just jumping on this bandwagon, as i am also having the same issue with these two segments.
I have successfully removed the road name from the other surrounding private roads. But these two are being entirely stubborn. To be honest, i’m not sure why these roads are even here as they are not publicly, or i would suggest even privately accessible.
