I unlocked everything locked passing through that view.
It makes it much easier if you select the segments you want unlocked before you make the permalink.
I’ll remember that for next time, thanks!
One of the ramps is still locked, I selected it in the permlink below.

Hate to rain on the parade, but in my opinion the roads should NOT have been split (I don’t remember if one or none were split before). There is not enough separation to require it, it is only split at the intersection, and a box intersection of two split roads tends to create missing road errors and allows u-turns which may not be allowed in real life.
What was the reason to split things here?
And an additional note… by creating brand new segments for one side of the road we have lost all historical time and speed data through that section of road. If and when we split roads, you have to literally split the existing segment in half and re-use each half as one side of the newly split structure.
As it is now it will be a few weeks (at least) before routing stabilizes here.
FYI, to un-split, you have to do the reverse (*** except in this case ***) – take the two sides and combine them into one segment. NEVER just delete a road segment unless it is a last resort.
BUT in this case, since one side has no data at all, we DO want to just delete that part and pretend it never existed and use the one side that actually has two way historical data.
No matter what we lose all the historical turn data though I fear.
Disagree.
At least the right turn-only lanes need to be put in, otherwise waze will be posting problem reports about missing roads (without the left turn-only lanes, there will still probably be some generated) and if you are going to put the right turn-only lanes without splitting the mains, there will be lots of ‘red arrows’ needed, which will tempt someone to qw nodes and really mess things up.
Right turn lanes most definitely need to be there. No argument there.
Adding left turn lanes would help remove the problem of auto map problems, but that would be overkill for this intersection since the same problems can be dealt with by having a single junction intersection.
And without the left turn lanes, I foresee a future of auto map problems since most left turning traffic could make their turn without touching any of the segments of the central box.
Yes users can mess up red arrows, but so what? That is what locks can be used for.
If we use a single junction intersection with the right turn lanes, there are 8 red arrows. With the split roads, we still have 4 red arrows (at the start/end of each split). So if red arrows are going to attract attention, we are still in trouble with the road split.
I am still curious what the original reason for splitting was besides trying to replicate the physical world (which is NOT a valid reason on its own).
