This section of road: Permalink, currently has an unscheduled road closure in place. I’m not sure how long it’ll be in place for, but I can keep this thread updated.
This closure is still in place. It’s frustrating that I can’t do this myself.

Hi there - I’m sorry this thread didn’t get an earlier reply. This is possibly because you replied to your own first post. Often, senior editors looking through the Requests forum will see that a thread has had a reply and will assume someone has already dealt with it.
I sympathise. The ability to add closures is currently restricted to L3+ editors - otherwise occasional/non-editors will mess with the map doing things like closing their own roads to prevent rat-runs or closing roads on routes they don’t like to take.
Is the road still closed and, if so, do you know why it’s closed and have any idea how long for?
As for people using Church Road - if you’re judging that by the GPS tracks, that doesn’t tell you what you think. 
The GPS tracks are not updated immediately - what you see is composed of averaged GPS tracks from many Waze users in a timeframe stretching from about 2 weeks ago to about 3 months ago. (If anyone want’s to object to those exact figures, feel free! I know that’s the order of the range, but can’t remember the exact figures ATM.)

Yeah, it reopened later that evening. It was a trunk road closed for most of the day. It was an accident… it made the BBC breakfast news the following day… McLaren supercar crashed into a house!
No, I wasn’t looking at the GPS tracks… I was looking at the dark red roads on the actual Waze app, and people reporting heavy traffic… not on the editor map.
