Hi all
New to forum and as I am an old man I am going a bit deaf so I want to get spoken directions through my phonak hearing aids, when I am not in car it seems to work fine, but when in car my aids keep switching off and on but any spoken directions come through the car speakers and not hearing aids.
Has anyone got any ideas that might help.
PS I need to keep car Bluetooth on to connect to carplay I just need to override car Bluetooth somehow.
Thanks in advance Dell
Hi Dell,
I’m not sure, but my guess is that it’s a combination of Waze settings and phone settings that you need to play with.
In Waze settings you can tell Waze to output to the phone speaker, or as Bluetooth phone call. It is probably defaulting to the later once the phone is paired to the car so you would need to select ‘phone speaker’ to stop this.
Settings - Voice & sound - Play sound via
I don’t know whether that will make it work via the hearing aids, but I’m guessing that part can be controlled on the phone, by telling it to output media/apps to the hearing aids instead of the speaker. On an iPhone this is
Settings - General - Accessibility - MFi Hearing Devices
Good luck!
Andrew
Thanks for reply
My iPhone 8 IOS 13 is set in call audio routing to always use Bluetooth Headset and in app set to play sound as Bluetooth phone call, I have tried selecting speaker and yes the sound comes from phone speaker not hearing aids, also if I go to control panel and selecting audio it is saying my phonak hearing aids.
