New Hyperlocal Permanent Alerts are now available in WME Production

Hello community!

We would like to inform you that the topic regarding the new permanent alerts, including the local rules that have already been defined, has been published in our Wazeopedia.

Link to the topic: Hyperlocal Permanent Alerts (Phase 2)

Below is a highlight of the main changes in the editing process from now on:

  • Initially, the new alerts are at level 4, which is the Waze standard, but the community leadership is evaluating a level reduction according to the evolution of the alerts.

  • Raised Crosswalks: there is no secret to this alert; it is a raised-type crosswalk, and it can be mapped. Any that are currently mapped as speed bumps can already be replaced with the correct alert.

  • Pedestrian crossings on highways: these should only be mapped on highway segments, and to avoid map clutter, it is recommended to evaluate each case and only map the crosswalk if there is a concrete risk of accidents at the location.

  • For other alerts, follow the Wazeopedia guidelines!

  • With this publication, we also had an update to the Speed Bumps topic, where dips should NOT be mapped as speed bumps. If you find any alert mapped for this purpose, it must be removed!
