I had a lot of trouble to login in the forum, and couldn’t find any help outside it, so I will leave it here to help anyone in the same situation.
I took a while to realize that the forum password is different from the waze client and map editor password. It would make sense since there is no option to register a new user in the forum.
I lost time clearing cookies and clicking update in the update as instructed by the support page.
In the end, I just needed to use the lost password link and use a new password.
I am pretty confident the password is the same in the forums. I only have one password for:
- Client App
- Waze Map Editor
- Forums
- Wiki
I do know that some of these, like the Wiki for sure, are case sensitive for the “account name” and maybe that is what you ran into. You may have created a second account with a capitalized version of your name and did not realize it.
Agreed. Always assume that user account names and passwords are case sensitive. Not all systems run in a Microsoft world where it does not matter.

No, I confirmed this. My password was different for the client and the forums.
Changing it in one didn’t change in the other. I fixed it with a normal password change in the forum.
And there is no way to register a new user in the forum, so I didn’t do it by hand.
Is it specific to my account?
Possibly. Maybe send the question to the Support link to check if your account is somehow messed up. Maybe they can help you get all of them synchronized to one.
Ask your question in the automated Waze support at the top of the http://www.waze.com/support to get the email prompt.
You should only change your password from the My Dashboard page.

If it looks strange, or I used bad grammar or misspelled anything, it’s my phone’s fault.
I tried that first. The forum didn’t accept the password I put in the dashboard.
Something must have disconnected my forum account from my dashboard account.
