Hi, our neighborhood is inundated with people cutting through our tiny narrow streets. Signs are clearly posted “local access only” and yet a deluge of people pass through being routed to near by Muir Woods. How can we edit the map so that our local traffic ordinances are obeyed and our tiny streets are safe again for the abundance of children playing. Traffic is being illegally turned off of Blithedale Ave onto Nelson and then cutting over on Sycamore Ave.

Thank you SO MUCH everyone! Sorry, I couldn’t figure out how to identify my location. The street in questions is the intersection of Blithedale Ave to Nelson Ave to Sycamore Ave in Mill Valley Ca 94941. I am happy to provide any other info anyone else needs.

OMG, you have no idea the amount of gratitude I have right now… THANK YOU! This has been such an issue and has been getting worse and worse. There are times my little tiny street is a parking lot of cut through traffic and people honk and try to go around all of the kids playing and riding their bikes. You guys are amazing.

Hi there, thanks for checking back in. Actually we have seen a significant reduction of traffic flowing from Nelson to Sycamore Ave… THANK YOU! It seems Apple Maps (had someone lost in our neighborhood stop me the other day using it) and possibly Google Maps is still routing through so I’m not sure how to get in touch with them to update it as well. The still noticeable traffic is now coming the other way crossing Miller Ave onto La Goma. This is also marked local traffic only at the intersection of La Goma. Is it possible to correct that direction as well? I can snap a picture of that intersection if it helps.

Can you please tell me if the opposite direction was also corrected. I’ve seen a reduction in the Nelson to Sycamore direction but here is still significant traffic coming the opposite direction now: crossing Miller onto La Goma the turning onto Sycamore to Nelson to Blithedale.
DreaNinja2, editor tonestertm addressed your earlier concerns by marking your neighborhood with Waze’s “Private Road” type. This road type prohibits through traffic to and from non-private roads in any direction. Waze should not be routing anyone between Miller and E Blithedale through your neighborhood either way, though of course we can’t speak for the other nav apps.
