New WME Version v2.340

Hey everyone!

We hope you are all doing well.

A new version of WME v2.340 has just been released :rocket:

See below what’s changed:

New Improvements and Community Suggestions

  1. We are pleased to announce that the Traffic Light feature is now available in WME Production for all environments! :vertical_traffic_light:
  • Please read the detailed description of the feature in the dedicated post. We encourage everyone to test it and share your feedback in the mentioned thread.

  • This version also includes a series of improvements to the Traffic Lights feature, added after the testing conducted in Israel (IL):

    • Improvements to the visual experience for junction boxes and complex intersections:

      • Now, when selecting a specific traffic light, we display only the turn arrows directly impacted by that traffic light, instead of all turns on the segment.
    • Turn arrows are no longer clickable when a specific traffic light is selected, improving the flow and avoiding accidental edits.

    • We added an explanatory tooltip in the Intersections section of the Traffic Lights panel.

  • We improved the logic for handling very short segments, especially when the map is zoomed in very close.
    • previously, traffic lights could only be added to very short segments via the node. Now, the system highlights the relevant part of the short segment, allowing the traffic light to be positioned correctly.

Bug fixes:

7 bug fixes have been released:

1. WME Performance: resolved the bug where WME displayed several Content Security Policy violations.

2. Node Merging: fixed the “There’s a problem with the highlighted segment & node” error, which previously required extra steps or multiple save clicks to bypass.

3. WME Places: fixed a case where, when deleting a duplicate external provider in Waze, both providers were removed.

4. WME Search: resolved the issue where the search bar didn’t update the map on the first attempt.

5. UR Emails: fixed the issue where users were not receiving response emails for submitted URs.

6. Traffic Light feature fixes (identified during testing in IL):

  • Fixed an issue where some turns were incorrectly excluded from the Previous turn section in the Traffic Lights panel.
  • Resolved a case where the U-turn was not included in the impacted turns section.
  • Fixed an issue where the Traffic Lights panel was not displayed for traffic lights configured on a roundabout entry turn.
  • Resolved the issue where some turns did not appear for traffic lights inside a junction box with alternative routes.

7. Closures: fixed a flow where road closures were not displayed within turn closures.

We look forward to receiving your feedback! :envelope_with_arrow:

Very good, now let’s get to work.

Excellent update! Thanks for the translation, @daviaraujo93. Let’s go! :rocket:

Nice!

Excellent !!!

One change that happened in a recent version was the introduction of abbreviations for road types in compact mode.

I didn’t like this change, and it’s even worse without using compact mode! Is this permanent, or is there a way to go back to how it was before?

What would be your suggestion, @marxmr?

I didn’t like it either… “Pcp” looks like “Pqp”… R/RE… Fv? It’s way too confusing. It’s true that when you hover you can tell what it is, but I didn’t find it intuitive at all.

I would follow the same pattern as in “route details,” using icons + tooltips.

I really loved the menu changes, I found it much cleaner and I got used to the changes in no time.

The way it was before with the full words. It didn’t take up as much space compared to this way.

I created a parking lot road and almost saved it as a state highway!

With the segment selected, you can’t see the color underneath and I almost missed it.

This feature for WME is very welcome. I hope to be able to use it in the future and improve the map of my city.

I agree as well, I think the previous way was better.

I agree with you. It’s a good thing the colors change and you can tell when something’s wrong, but I prefer the old one.

Thanks for the feedback @danielborges93, @marxmr, @A0Itabaiana and @MrBentoJr,

I’ve checked the feature and this behavior is WAD (working as designed). In compact mode, road types are shown with abbreviations, and this is the standard adopted globally, including in other languages, precisely to prevent the interface from becoming excessively long and visually cluttered.

For those who prefer to see the full road type name, we recommend using “normal mode”, where the dropdown list displays the full descriptions.

Regarding the intuitiveness: when hovering over the button, the tooltip shows the full description of the road type:

For those who want to improve the visualization even further, there is the WME Click Saver script, which adds the corresponding road type colors to the buttons in compact mode and allows for display customization, which helps a lot with quick identification:

As for the abbreviations for the Major Highway and Railroad types, we will proceed with the correction to maintain our language’s spelling standards, which may take until the next version to appear in WME.
