Waze Boxes

Waze boxes are part of the Discuss editing tools and provide additional ways to highlight text or topics. They also provide a way to replace the Mboxes that were available in the old wiki based Wazeopedia.

New wzBoxes

Below are samples of the new wzBoxes, or Waze Boxes, and the code used to display them.

• Text may be centred or left aligned depending on the content and how it looks.
  • For short blocks (e.g. 1-2 lines) centring is preferred.
  • For longer blocks of text left aligned is preferred.
• A font size of 105 makes text more readable [size=105][/size]
• You could nest multiple messages (single box) together using the wzBoxes tag. See an example on the Demo Preview Page
• When using wzBoxes (or linen) for messages the text colour needs to be forced to black using . Without this text is not visible in dark mode.

This is a blue Waze Box. It could be used for highlighting some information.

wzBox Templates

The preferred way to insert a Waze Box when replacing or inserting a message box is to use a template. Templates can be inserted using the code below and the corresponding post number (found in the Types and Images table at the end of the page).

When using a template text can be formatted within the parentheses (" "). i.e. place after the open parentheses and before the closing. Lists and line breaks can be added using HTML tags.

If centring is desired it must be applied to a manually created message box due to using font size in the template (the center tags must be outside the size), Think carefully about how necessary this formatting is as you will lose the benefits of a template.

Old Mboxes

Mboxes, or message boxes, used a template to highlight small blocks of text that needed to stand out. These are not available in the new Discuss Wazeopedia.

• The old Mbox types and what they were used for.
• The suggested colours that should be used for a wzBox. It is preferred that colours remain standardised across topics.
• The post number needed if using the wzBox template.
• The image link to insert just the image.
